As one of the largest design companies in the world, AECom required tuition in project management for their workforce to strengthen their offering and help them obtain more contracts within the UK.

TWA has provided bid support on a multi-million pound London project for Strabag, one of Europe’s largest construction companies. Giving advice and support on construction in the UK market, the Austrian company is also benefitting from specialist guidance on bidding for major projects within the UK.

Supporting with strategy and the development of opportunities within the waste sector, TWA prepared prequalification questionnaires for a number of waste-to-energy projects for Advanced Recycling Technologies, in partnership with Cargill, VT and Fortums. This project was on a large scale, with a value of over £20 million.

TWA provided the support and management of the prequalification and bid process for the construction of temporary swimming pools for the Olympic Games in 2012. This involved a project team from TWA and co-ordination with a team in Spain to deliver this project solution. The value of this project was approximately £100 million.

Management Systems
This project required the development of the international management systems for one of the world's largest construction companies, with the aim of them eventually being deployed within the UK subsidiary.

A30 Tolvaddon Bridge Replacement
TWA managed the bid team for the design and construction tender to the Highways Agency for the Tolvaddon Bridge replacement in Cornwall. This project was valued at £9 million.

Chatham Place Reading
For this project, TWA managed the preconstruction phase of the project including design and costings. The total project value was £11 million.

This project required us to manage the civil and building contract package of works along with advising on working within the UK. This involved the co-ordination of work between Zurich and South East London. The value of this project was approximately £500 million, with the civil package over £100 million.

TWA were responsible for the delivery of an ongoing series of one day project management courses for organisations and graduates within the construction industry.

Thomas Winter Associates managed the team that developed the bid to the Welsh Assembly for the design and construction of the Talgarth Relief Road in mid Wales. Project value £5m.

For local construction companies such as Millway Builders, Thomas Winter Associates provide Health & Safety support services. These comprise regular site safety and scaffold inspections on all their construction sites in the south of England.
