Job Title Process Design Engineer / Manager
Reporting to Board Director
Location North Hampshire
Scope of the Role Management of the design, commissioning and operation of RDF plants.
Key Internal Relationships Capable of forming and developing an engineering team
Key External Relationships Ability to work closely with suppliers and contractors.
The Role
The position of Process Design Engineer / Manager is fundamental to an organisation we are looking to develop.
The Industry Sector is Waste with a link to Power.
The main purpose of the role is to develop an engineering function within this Project Development organisation to support the roll out of a number of Waste Processing facilities throughout the UK.
Initially this function will be based in the South of England or Midlands.
Initially travel will be required to Ireland to develop concepts and receive knowledge of working process.
Development of a design management process will be a clear objective over the initial period.
Person Specification
A senior manager with experience of setting up and managing design functions Ability to work within a team and co-ordinate across a number of functions Good communication skills particularly within the co-ordination of construction contractors and project managers.
Essential qualities include:
With at least 10 years experience in heavy rotating and mechanical handling plant design and installation, with a good understanding of industrial electrics and electronics.
Must be fluent in either AutoCAD or Solid Works CAD applications (ideally both), and must be highly computer literate in the use of engineering calculation software.
Desirable qualities include:
The applicant must also be able to demonstrate familiarity with engineering construction site working and be in possession of a “Safe Pass” certificate, and be able to show sufficient strength of personality to exercise authority on such sites on behalf of the company.
A degree level qualification in mechanical engineering would be an advantage, but experience and the ability to use initiative and imagination in problem solving is of greater importance
